Green Eggs and Portland

  • September,5th,2009 at 1:07 AM

I haven’t been out to paint the town red yet—due to lack of funds—but I have been able to sample some of the delicious local goodies in Portland.

While I was inquiring about the abundance of Portlanders who keep live chickens in their yards the other day, I found out the a buddy of mine who I play music with actually keeps chickens himself. After repeatedly demanding he supply me with the fruits of his hen’s labor, I went to a jam session yesterday to find a half dozen freshly laid eggs waiting for me.

Notice in the picture how half of the eggs are brownish-yellow and the other half are a light green color. I don’t know the difference in hen breeds, but both hues were damn delicious.
