A brutal combination of limited finances and frigid temperatures has kept me not only from exploring the PDX beer scene, but also from purchasing sudsy beverages for home consumption.

While I was picking up some items at the grocery store today, however, I noticed that my favorite Sam Adams brew—their ultra tasty Black Lager—was on sale.  Since it was well below 30-degrees and I was cooking up some portobellos for dinner the choice was easy—a bit of the east coast to grace my table.

Some things you just can’t pass up.
